Missions #1: Serving your membership

Your club management should be in synch with your association's mission and goals.

Everyone on the club's management team needs to focus on the goals of the club:
  • Serving the members
  • Retaining and growing membership
Never allow anyone to stray from the good of the club and its membership. For instance, stay firm to a policy that rewards your members for their loyalty by giving them "insider" pricing for events. Make sure that committee chairs and event organizers understand the importance of preferential pricing and plan accordingly when putting together their programs.

Spearheading events is hard work, and can fulfill a range of ambitions. Those who plan events may use this as an opportunity to have access to prominent speakers, for instance.  Their interests should be served, since committee chairs or event planners add value to the organization.

Your membership also appreciates the privilege of being able to meet prominent speakers when such events are planned. Let members have first dibs at filling seats to hear a speaker who is renowned in his field.

The goal of everyone on your management is to work as a team to serve the needs of your membership.
